All of our students have Chromebooks and I love integrating them into my lessons! They really help me differentiate my lessons. However, since my students are doing different activities at one time and we don't have headphones it can get pretty noisy in the room. The noise causes some students to get off task and some students get embarrassed that other people can hear what they are working on (especially my lower kids). My goal is to eliminate this and have students feel comfortable using their Chromebooks and working on their own. I am always looking for a way to get my whole class participating. A good way to do this is to play "Whiteboard Games". A good example of this is when we are doing an activity to help them study their spelling words. I give students a word and they write it on a piece of paper and hold it up in the air, I check which students got the word correct and who didn't. We've been doing this with notebook paper but it creates a lot of trash, having whiteboards in the classroom will help eliminate all the paper use. Lastly, the Post-Its flipchart helps me create anchor charts that help me with my lesson. I use them to make anchor charts about what I am teaching the day. For example, if I am teaching prefixes I will make an anchor chart that describes what a prefix is and how to use it. I give a couple examples of how to use prefixes and even use some drawings to make it easier for students to understand. After the anchor chart is used in the lesson it goes up somewhere on the classroom wall so students can reference them when they are working.
