Human Genetics by Ricki Lewis provides a text that is accessible to high school readers. It will enhance my student's base level knowledge of genetics research and support the lab work the students already do. Genetics is a rapidly changing field, and part of the course is dedicated to studying ethics in research. Students need a strong background in the material to have meaningful conversations. Literacy in science is extremely important, and I encourage students to read and write about science as often as we can. By helping fund this project, you will help students connect their personal beliefs and interests to the foundation of genetics research. This book will encourage science literacy while providing a consistent resource for the students to reference.
