Students struggling with sensory regulation cannot truly access their curriculum while their sensory needs are not being met. Imagine trying to work while you were wearing pants two sizes too small and had seven splinters in your right hand. It would be incredibly distracting and make it hard to focus on the task at hand. Students with sensory regulation difficulties are feeling this way daily. Access to calming sensory space as an integrated part of their school day can support students with sensory needs, such as students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, access their curriculum by better preparing them physically for learning.

About my class
