My students are eager to learn science. Many do not have strong role models for science and do not have a background in learning outside of books and pictures. My children are learning about Life Science this year in the 7th grade and need to see just how small living matter can be. In order to be a part of using a microscope, we have to share 10 microscopes with ten science classrooms. Learning is fluid and my students need to be able to research and conduct experiments regularly. In order to assist their learning and curiosity, they need the kind of equipment that will support this. Microscopes in the classroom will enlighten the students and enhance their learning. Making slides, looking at organisms and delving deeper into their abilities as scientists will make them better students. Having the microscopes available in the classroom every day will allow them the endless possibilities for their exploration. I hope to teach my students to be curious and willing to learn science through their own ideas and deeper analysis of their surroundings.
