When’s the last time you read a book you actually enjoyed reading? Most likely you didn’t recall a book from your required summer reading! With this set of leveled readers I am hoping to change that for my students. I want to help my students gain a love for reading through texts that are authentic and challenging. These leveled texts will be used in guided reading lessons to help students increase not only their reading levels and critical thinking skills but also to promote their love for reading. The ultimate goal in any reading instruction, outside of gaining understanding, is for our guidance as teachers to translate into students choosing to read independently for their own purposes and outside of our classroom instruction.
