I am Ms. Rondon, a first year special education teacher. I currently work and live in Brooklyn, NY (Brownsville). I have lived in the community my entire life. I chose this profession because I wanted to be a living example for my students and EMPOWER them. I want them to realize, despite a lack of resources, despite poor housing conditions, despite living in one of the most dangerous communities in Brooklyn, despite being surrounded by gangs...They have choices! There is a way out of the cycle of poverty! The way is EDUCATION! Learning MUST be interactive, exciting, and engaging. Being able to create claymation, Imovies, and Storyboards digitally provides students with engaging lessons, ideas and skills.
