To create a still life drawing with emphasis on understanding positive and negative space. I will also focus on chiaroscuro in a composition. I hope to instill an understanding of viewing positive and negative space when creating a still life drawing. I will start out with two preliminary exercises that build on the act of seeing space. One exercise is a blind contour drawing which will enhance the students hand-eye coordination and the ability to focus on the object you are drawing. Students will be able to complete a still life drawing that will enhance their ability to SEE and express their vision. DonorsChoose.org can make a difference in my ability to provide the tools I need to implement my project. As a Title One school, every contribution makes a significant difference in a student's life.
