Whether by recording a video, writing a book, practicing their sight words, or using "Explain Everything" to demonstrate deep understandings of complex ideas -- our students want to engage in content creation in a way that fortifies their critical thinking abilities, makes space for them to express their ideas, and strengthens their abilities to work individually and collaboratively. It is my hope to continue fostering excellence in our classroom by teaching my students the importance of responsibility, problem-solving, compassion, and working diligently as they master content standards. However, I realize that access to quality materials and resources that properly support the cultivation of those characteristics is essential. Our second graders want to shine brightly. They want to let the world know all about their “Panda Pride.” They want to have room to be curious and learn in the environments that support all of their diverse learning styles. They want to make a difference in their communities and the world. They want to have the resources and materials like Apple iPads that will allow them to think critically. They want you to believe in their power to create.
