Our classroom this year will be quite a bit different. I am teaching face to face rather than virtual. Most of my children will have been home for more than 6 months. Sadly, much of that time has been spent on computer, television, and mobile device screens. It's a phenomenon known as "nature deficit disorder". We will be attempting to keep the students apart inside our schools once we return and most of us understand how difficult that really is going to be. Let's get these students outside AND learning. I am a science teacher by training and love the outdoors. The perennial garden outside our building is maintained by specifically my students. Purchasing a sprinkler was a must and I've kept it going with that (and a lot of weeding!) since we were sent home. The students would be so surprised to see an active birdbath and feeders this year. I purchased flexible seating options for inside my classroom and also purchased 20 of the black foldable stools I listed in the request myself. It looks like I'll have around 26 students instead of the 20, so the additional stools would be much appreciated. The distance to the garden makes carrying heavy chairs not feasible.
