Using Nearpod will provide a way for my students to be actively engaging with the curriculum rather than be passive receivers of information. They can draw their interactions, answer questions as well as any of the other options offered in Nearpod for responding. It addresses their different ways of learning and responding. My students respond well to actively engaging in the curriculum and will say they want more of it. By using Nearpod, my students will be able to receive real time feedback from both me and their fellow students as we engage in discussions to reach a deeper level of thinking. It will provide for the opportunity to reteach as necessary or move forward if students are ready. It provides a quick way of formative assessment for students to understand where their weaknesses and strengths are and gives them ownership of their own learning. When they are passive receivers of information, we don't get to the deeper levels of thinking and understanding. The active engagement spurs them to think "beyond the box" and they connect and remember the information better.
