This rug would add comfort and clearly defined spacing to my student's daily routine: Currently, half of the class cannot see the white board slide projector from their seats at their table spots. Because I teach literacy using educational slides, students would be able to see and interact with each slide from their specific spot on the carpet without getting in anyone else's space. During our daily literacy block, students hear a story, discuss details about the story with both the teacher and a peer while pair-sharing. On our new rug, we would have a morning meeting each day to learn about the calendar, weather and alphabet to become familiar with number and letter recognition. During math and literacy centers, we would utilize the rug for block and lego building and tangram designing. Lastly, we would celebrate reading during our Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) portion of the day by reading individual books on the rug.
