These books celebrate diversity and inclusion, something all educators should work toward every day. Many of my students. I have wanted a classroom library for my students to check out books for the past couple of years, but didn’t have the funds to do so. After the difficulty of the end of the 2019-2020 school year, I’d be so grateful to welcome students back for the 2020-2021 school year with some books to read. All of the books relate to a topic we will cover in World History. Each of the books could also be excerpted and we could break down the document as a class. With these new books, my students can take interest in historical fiction and nonfiction and gain a better self understanding of social studies topics.
