I believe that flexible seating will allow my exceptional group of 46 2nd graders to be actively engaged in their learning. Recently, the education system has pushed for more rigorous and ultimately longer blocks of instructional time. This promotes maximum success for our students. However, many students cannot sit still for longer than 5 minutes! They crave activity and this project gives them an outlet for releasing any excess energy that cannot always be released during one 20 minute recess. By donating to our project, you will be giving my high energy students a fun way to participate in daily routines. Flexible seating puts an exciting spin on activities such as independent reading, group discussions, or using technology. The items I chose, such as inflatable balls, wobble seat cushions, and lap desks will give a variety of fun seating options to my students. This can promote their achievement by meeting their individual needs and giving them an acceptable way to be active in the classroom. Sometimes students just need to get their wiggles out! The materials for this project will let them do just that. Your donation would be giving our class the tools we need to achieve and grow this school year.
