The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students are geared towards the study of African American historical events and biographies of famous African Americans. As students learn about African American events and biographies and the concentration of music, dance, poetry, and speeches derived from the events and biographies, students will be able to create a music production such as a Harlem Renaissance production-Jazz Cafe, I created. The donations to this project will support students to gain knowledge of African American events and biographical information to create a music production. By implementing the performing arts program, my students will begin to see themselves as true artists. From my expertise in arts, it is essential that students receive these materials to become greater artists. I believe that being creative has a lot to do with what you see, hear, remember and your emotions.
