My students have small group activity time two to three times a day. During these times, students work together in collaborative groups on different literature skills. In these small groups, students are exposed to a variety of reading skills that are on their learning level. My students will be thrilled to have new materials for our literature centers!!! The board games will excite them because they love all games. My students will be learning while they are having fun!!!! The library of games offers a collection of fun activities that emphasize crucial reading skills. Making inferences is a very difficult task for 4th grade students. However, I believe the skill will be much easier to grasp if taught within a game they enjoy playing. The non-fiction literature materials will be awesome because the material is interesting and will be new! Non-fiction literature and the associated skills are key concepts in fourth grade. Students must read non-fiction materials and be able to answer questions or write about the non fiction topic. All students deserve the building blocks for a solid foundation in reading and literature skills. If those skills are acquired in a fun and engaging environment, those skills will stick with students and allow them to be successful in reading!
