My college prep chemistry students have a difficult time organizing and learning the required information. Most of this comes from their lack of organization skills. Research done by Dr. Melissa Hughes states that color helps students retain content and makes additional connections in the brain. With this project, students will be able to make flipcharts for each unit to organize their notes while adding color and interactive notes to increase their understanding of the content. The colored paper will allow students to see where their notes go and will allow their notes to stand out from their other assignments. Additionally, by placing their notes for each unit in a flipchart, students will learn organizational skills that can benefit them in all classes. The organization also supports English language learners and students with learning disabilities understand and learn the material.
