From the first day I walked into class, I could tell these students were going to have a great year. Their attentiveness and respect for classroom rules has made this first week just fly by, but I know that there are some things lurking in their systems. The fidgets. Whether it's a student making a disruption or the students around them having to deal with the classroom disturbances I know that eventually some changes need to be made. So, instead of waiting for week six to creep up, and be the next opportunity I'll have to create change, I'm seeking for that change right here and now. I want all of my students to be successful, and if having something to mess around with such as a Fidget Cube or Fidget Resistance bands on their chair being all it takes, then I'm more than happy to reach out for help to get the items that will help them be successful. Because if I were in any of these students shoes, I would love to know my Teacher tried every which way to set me up for success. Whether it's money, time, or any other resource I can gather to help benefit their education, they deserve to know that they were worth every second. That's the basis of my entire project. My students will benefit in the long run if these items are established into my classroom early on and be a part of the first few weeks excitement of being back in school. Setting up social norms and classroom etiquette will help later in the year when I'll need their full attention just as much as they'll need my instruction.
