Sensory activities provide a release for students who struggle with anxiety on a variety of levels and for a variety of reasons. Having an opportunity to tune out all of the hectic noises and motions of the school day greatly benefits some students. Even just a 10 minute break can make the difference in a difficult day and a successful day for a student. Having a safe place to go with supportive equipment and activities can provide exactly what some students need. Instead of having an in-class melt-down or shut-down, they can come and de-stress for at least a few moments. These moments are pivotal for some students to be able to continue learning and continue to be socially successful during the day.

About my class
