As a second year teacher, my classroom library is lacking interesting books for my sixth grade students. The books I have decided to add to my project here on donors choose will help intrigue them to want to read more. I have even had students tell me, "You don't have a lot of books in here". I truly believe students that say, "reading is boring" or "I don't enjoy reading" have not read books that truly interest them. I love when students voluntarily read without being prompted. As an educator, I do understand that some students enjoy reading more than others. It is my job to ensure my students have a fair opportunity to more options that are going to interest them. It is not inspiring for my students to enter a classroom that has a poor choice of books. Having a better classroom library will truly motivate and inspire my students to read more.
