Our school is a performing arts school in a low-income area, and my students are passionate about arts, but also learning more about history. My students, for this new first year class, African-American History, are the students who petitioned to make this class happen in the first place. They are passionate, dedicated, and excited to learn about a topic they felt like was not being addressed enough. I'm really proud of their efforts to make this class happen, and their passion to push the class towards something that want to learn about.
