Students will have a safe sensory-friendly place they can go to in order to calm challenging behaviors and emotions. These children process their sensory environment in an atypical way and need an alternative way in order to learn, socialize, and play in a functional way. The items in this room will help regulate the vestibular, kinesthetic, tactile, auditory, visual sensory system. This project will serve the preschool special education rooms, the occupational therapy students, the special education students, and the grades k-3 at the Costano elementary school. This space will also be used for rainy days as an indoor gym area.

About my class
