The students do a lot of learning while sitting on the floor. A carpet with a spot for each kid would be useful in helping students learn. They have their own space to sit! Students know this is their special spot that no one else can be in. They can focus on learning without feeling squished or worrying about others in their space. They know exactly where to go. They know which is their spot so it shaves down on class time when students are "picking" spots on the carpet. They will have a place to sprawl out during reading time. They love being able to lay on their tummies to read on the carpet, sit together with their friends and share stories, or even for them to journal!
