These classic board and card games will give my students the opportunity to take a break from their core classes to enjoy time with their peers on a bimonthly basis. Playing games will not only provide a much needed respite from academics for my high-achieving students, but also will help them to develop positive social relationships with students in their 6th grade class. In addition to helping my students build positive peer relationships, often board games helps encourage strategic and critical thinking. Studies show that playing board games can help lay the foundation for the development and enhancement of more complex problem-solving processes. Playing board games is a win-win for students!

About my class
