Technology is the driving factor in the 21st century classroom setting! Having a Chromebook in my classroom as well as other needed resources will help me to provide disadvantaged students have more access to technology in their classroom besides going to computer lab/class rotations, which are sometimes limited and/or cancelled. The Chromebook can be used for center activities and research when students have project assignments. They can also use this resource for other things, such as our school adopted learning online curriculum and virtual field trips when needed. It also provides additional usage skills for academic growth that can possibly help them as they get older and prepare for college, careers, and trades. Technology and computers will be around for many years to come and it is a MUST that they are adapted into classrooms and curriculum in order for students to excel and build on their learning and knowledge. The pocket charts will be helpful because they can serve as visual aids in the classroom (e.g. vocabulary builders), which will help with reading and comprehension skills...another vital subject that needs essentials for cognitive growth.
