My dream is to create a culture of reading in my classroom. With these new books, students will choose books that interest them at their level of Spanish. In turn, they will be "secretly" taking in the language and producing more than they can imagine. Libraries like these have helped teachers keep students engaged through comprehensible input in a variety of entertaining texts. Stephen Krashen, a famous linguist and educational researcher, found that reading is 10 times more effective than language instruction in acquiring a language. With the help of an FVR library in my classroom, students will grow stronger in reading and speaking a second language.
