What do you do with an energetic group of first graders? There are a lot of opportunities throughout our school day for my students to move about the classroom and complete work wherever they'd like. However, there are also times during the day in which students need to be working at their table spots. This is where I see the most fidgeting. Providing students with a fidget band on their chair would allow them to move while working, without distracting others. This is where my project comes into play. I would like to provide each student with a fidget band. In the case that a student doesn't care for the fidget band, I'd like to offer a wobble cushion. My project list includes four wobble cushions, and 30 fidget bands. Finally, each week I would love the opportunity to introduce my students to a different type of reading material- a magazine. Scholastic News would help make this a reality in the classroom. Each week, students would receive an interactive magazine to explore as a class. Students will strengthen their reading ability while discovering new information through a non-fiction lens.
