I color code handouts to differentiate activities, pre-make cut outs in many colors to distinguish between teams, students use the colors for organization and location of handouts, and let's be honest - color makes a room look happy! I will use color copies for an activity that might have different entry points to include all learners. I use the color code system to create new teams and sharing. For organizational purposes, I will make each team a different color if I have matching activities in case pieces fall on the floor it's easy to keep complete sets separate. For students who struggle with organization, they can look for the purple paper rather than strictly by topic or name. Lastly, I like to use the paper for origami when I have students at lunch who might need a place to hang out and stay busy!
