The supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." With help from donations, these supplies will benefit my students in the classroom in so many ways. The books will be placed in our current library area, next to the carpet. The books will be sorted for by those that are above grade level, on grade level and below grade level for easy reference/access for the students. This will provide the students with a comfortable area to sit, read and reflect. Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will meet them where they are academically and allow them to be independent readers. My students will be able to choose from books that interest them. But mainly, these books will inspire a love of reading in my students. My hope is that they will use these books as a catalyst to read more which will build on their reading comprehension, enrich their reading experience and propel them further into a love of literature.
