Leveled readers will be used daily for small group instruction. Through them, we will be able to focus on comprehension, accuracy, fluency, and expanding our vocabulary. We can incorporate writing through a response to literature. The leveled readers will also be available for students to take home so they can enjoy reading books on their independent reading level. One of my goals is to instill a love for reading by helping my students become confident readers. The LEGOs will be used for STEM activities. In the STEM activities, students will be confronted with a challenge that they will have to solve by creative thinking and engineering new ideas. These ideas will then be tested and documented.
