It is difficult to be a self-contained fourth grade teacher! I have about three and a half hours to teach all of my ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies standards. I am trying to kill two birds with one stone. Incorporating Literature circles using Who Was books will enable me to teach ELA and social studies standards in unison. Most of the students in my classroom do not have a public library card. My goal is to provide reading material to students, and have them rotate through at least five literature circle groups. After each rotation, groups will create a Powerpoint and present it to the class.
