A newer trend in education is the use of flexible seating. When students are allowed to choose a comfortable, safe place to read and work, their concentration and motivation increases, allowing them to succeed. My students can spend up to 45 minutes reading independently on any given school day. Imagine the possibilities when the students have a comfortable, cushioned chair to safely and snugly settle into for reading, writing, problem solving... The Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seats and accompanying floor desks that I am wishing to add to my classroom will benefit the needs of many of my students, particularly those with special needs/anxiety. Providing an alternative reading and work space will give my students both physical and emotional support while they work.
