As just a second year teacher with a passion for revitalizing education the way it is done at the Ron Clark Academy, I am constantly searching for instructional strategies that are engaging, exciting, and relevant to my students' lives. I don't want them sitting still in desks all day, I want them moving, discovering, creating, and truly learning! This is my first year teaching only math and science, and I am loving it. However, I feel that I lack knowledge and experience with these highly engaging instructional practices to be able to effectively implement them in my classroom. Ron Clark is my education role model and inspires me to be an exceptional educator, and I believe this experience would be foundational for my life-long career in education that has only just begun. This professional development will give me the practical tools and strategies I need to provide my students with a dynamic education in math and science. If my project is funded, my students and I will cherish this experience for a life time!
