Reading is the most important skill students learn while in school. Having this set of picture books within my classroom will allow me to teaching meaningful and engaging reading lesson. The books cover a wide variety of topics that will teach different skills and lessons. Many of the books cover non-fictions topics like animals, life cycle, weather, space, presidents, and volcanoes, while other books cover deep topic like being yourself, perseverance, slavery, freedom and kindness. With each book we will not only be discussing the theme and meaning behind each book, the students will also be using and learning literacy skills that they can practice. The requested books will enhance the first grade students learning and make the classroom a more engaging place to learn.
