In our class, my students are working at a variety of levels and have various needs. Some of my students need flexibility in their work place. We offer project-based learning opportunities to keep them engaged, however providing flexibility in work spaces will increase our engagement further. Offering a variety of work space increases focus and engagement. In fact, research has shown dramatic increases in concentration, according to Fast Company (2015), and students become more attentive when using a standing desk. A standing desk in our classroom will give my students the opportunity to find a place in our class to work standing up. The added kick bar allows them to get their wiggles out while staying focused and working.
