For my project, I am asking for five cowbells and four cowbell mounts. A lot of our students have strong Latin American heritage, and the cowbell is an instrument that features prominently in salsa, Caribbean music, and Cuban music. Our band program right now is very percussion-based- playing mostly drumline music. The addition of cowbells to our band program would give students different opportunities. We want to add these to our snare drums to be able to add versatility to the types of music we play. The cowbells would give our drumline something different and exciting that would help our performers stand out.
