Our tricycles were sad--they were decades old and broken beyond repair. In fact at the start of this school year, we had to discard all but one due to safety concerns. Duct tape was not the solution. So for my very first DonorsChoose.org project, I decided to request a new tricycle for my deserving keiki. This tricycle will help my students discover the joy of their bodies in motion. It's fun for them, and at the same time is enhancing their body-spatial awareness as they navigate around the playground. Not only is tricycle riding beneficial for their gross motor coordination, it will also encourage social interactions as they learn to share and take turns. Oh what fun!
