Our school is moving toward standards-based grading and individualized learning paths on learning progressions; this means more students work at their own pace and have choice in how they do their work. It also means that there are class times when some students will need to work on writing assignments at tables while other students would benefit from a place to read or to spread out and work on a project. By donating to this project, you will help build our reading nook as both a collection of texts and a physical space! I've brought many books of my own personal library into my classroom, but I need your help with some of the furnishings (and a few popular titles I think students will like). I want to create a classroom which provides different ways to feel comfortable in a learning space, and I appreciate your support in helping me achieve this goal.
