My students are placed in ALE (Alternative Learning Environment) mostly for their behavior. Several of them are A.D.D. or A.D.H.D. and need hands-on activities to keep them engaged in their learning. I have requested paper, glue, scissors, markers, and other art supplies so we can make interactive notebooks, foldables, and collages to practice concepts. For my girls in athletics, I've requested sports equipment so we can play various games in the gym while encouraging physical fitness. Most of these materials are on supply lists students take home at the beginning of the year for project-based learning, but due to most of my students coming from low-income households, many of these supplies do not get bought by parents. I strive for my students to be able to come to school each day and actually be excited and looking forward to learning, despite being in ALE. My main goal is to make learning fun and to keep my students engaged, both in the ALE setting as well as the girls athletics. I feel as if these materials will be able to assist me very well in this matter. My students would greatly appreciate each and every material that they would receive.
