We are in need of basic supplies to help build our classroom. My students come from a high poverty neighborhood where their parents are unable to afford any supplies under regular circumstances. Now during this pandemic and uncertain income statuses, school supplies may not be in the budget. Some of my students have been displaced because of the pandemic. It is imperative that they have basic supplies in order to achieve a sense of normalcy. Having these items readily available when they return to classes will mean to the world to these children. The items requested including sentence strips, math and reading manipulatives and composition books can assist in building vocabulary, developing language skills, and increasing reading fluency. My students are English language learners and it is extremely important to develop their vocabulary and reading skills to ensure their academic success. All of the items requested play a part in building a solid foundation in their education. Please help my blossoming students become the best they can be!
