Providing a class set of computer mice and headphones will allow my STEM students the ability to research with efficiency and focus. Students are often coding on their Chromebook for class assignments. That being said, students run into difficulties when their trackpad on their computer starts to malfunction or when they haven’t developed proper computer skills yet. Kindergarten students particularly struggle when using their Chromebook's trackpad, due to a lack of computer experience and having differing levels of fine and gross motor skills. The coding software we use relies on audio input to provide students with instructions and feedback. Students who do not have their own headphones are not able to experience the full benefits of the audio input due to the sound being a distraction for those around them.

About my class
