Students will read the novel in groups, and this can be better done by using a paper book instead of an audio book or digital book. Students are easily distracted by too much work assigned to them on a computer. Many students get eye strain from all the screen time, and audio books are not always helpful in a classroom that is not quiet enough for everyone to focus on the book as a whole class. With physical books, students can read together quietly in a group and better enjoy their reading experience. I have noticed also that students feel very special when given brand new books to read!
