Middle school is a rough time in most student's lives. Luckily my students are still in the elementary school, but are still becoming young adults. Sixth graders are feeling young adult and adult feelings, but sometimes do not know how to handle these feeling in a positive way. These resources, such as origami paper and fidget toys, will help my students learn how to respond to these feeling in a positive way, and practice mindfulness. My goal is that students will be able to use these materials when needed in a specific place in the classroom to calm down or practice these mindful skills. This will help my students achieve the district's vision of learning skills that will help them in the future as adults.
