The students of Parsippany are special because they embrace each and every social-emotional service that we have to offer. As a district, we have made a dedication to full time counselors, psychologists and social workers to address all types of social situations our kids encounter. Our students advocate for peers in different groups who may be ridiculed and inclusion of all students is at the highest level. The community is built with dedication, opportunities in athletics, clubs, arts and music. These materials will aid in the creation of a mindfulness room for our students. The idea supplements our districts already dedicated work on student wellness engagement and a therapeutic atmosphere. All of the items selected are to create an environment where students can make this office their safe place to express feelings, take a brain break and learn about their emotional self. Room Design: Section One is for Meditation - Medium Size Fuzzy Rug Bean Bags / Plush Chairs/ Cushions/ Pillows Diffuser & Essential Oils White Noise Machine Shape Projector Fish Tank with live fish Section Two is for emotional development Life Size Jenga Stress Balls for students to keep Kinetic Sand (we already have) This section will be support by the vast amount of educational games already at the school. Section 3 is for student meeting Tables already in place at the school Section 4 is for the general counseling space as is already stocked.
