Students will learn how to use watercolors and the substances that will cause resistance. This will teach them that resistance will block the watercolors and will not let paint spread to certain areas of their watercolor paper, thereby creating a wonderful effect. Resistance will create some very interesting watercolor paintings. The students are always amazed at what they have created. They love this project. They inevitably want to do this project over and over again. Working with watercolors is tricky and sometimes difficult to learn how to use; however, once mastered, students tend to create some very interesting pieces of art.
