My students love to move and want to be as independent as possible so they can learn and play at school. The mat allows them a soft, safe place to lie down, change positions and do exercises as needed throughout the day. We will use it for Physical Therapy and it will be part of the therapy room for other students who need a brain break. Students with physical disabilities often need PT during the week to help with stretching tight muscles, strengthening core muscles and working on balance and coordination. These things help them to be able to sit up better in the classroom, improve walking or mobility in a wheelchair, focus on the teacher, learn alongside their peers and play with others.
