In using these materials, my students will be able to create and manage a digital wall of Veterans to display during and around Veteran's Day. We will create a common template using pictures, branch of military, rank, years of service, accommodations, and theaters of engagement. Then using the Roku sticks to link up a classroom laptop and the TVs, broadcast the images onto TVs in the common areas of our school throughout the school day. This will open up the Veteran's War to the entire student body. It is my goal to continue to grow this project to include veterans from the student body in the coming years. The flags will be positioned around school to create interest in the project as well as introspection about the freedoms our veterans have provided us. This project will allow my students to shine a spotlight on service members from their family as well as from our community. We will open this celebration up to all soldiers who have fought for United States as well as those that fought during the French and Indian War and for the Confederacy. As Abraham Lincoln said, "The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it far above our poor power to add or detract."
