I am teaching traditional drawing from observation techniques, which require that artists are able to stand and draw what they see without having to look down at the page or lean on the surface. Easels would be incredibly liberating for our painting and drawing classes, and would afford us not only the tools to be dynamic and effective, but also the mobility to take our classes outside "en plein air." At the moment, the students are drawing on their desks, which compromises both their techniques and my instruction. A class set of easels would be instrumental this year and for all the years to come.
