The books will allow my students to have access to higher level texts. I want my students to have a love of reading and it starts with the adults in their lives. I believe it is my job to get them excited about quality texts so they can have this skill for the rest of their lives. It has been proven time and time again how important it is to read to children. My favorite part of the day is reading to my students and discussing all the wonders literature has to offer. The hands on manipulative and stem materials will allow my students to have access to new ways of exploring the world around them. There are so many different learning styles and abilities in one classroom, but these materials fit the needs of all students. It is so important to allow creativity in the classroom and these materials will give them this opportunity. All of the materials I am requesting will be used time and time again in the classroom. They will have endless learning opportunities and will succeed in many areas including their social and emotional well being. They will learn to work on teams and form relationships with their peers.
