Each day students will have these books in their hands to help them learn different reading skills from letter identification to stretching out words they are not familiar with. Students will hear these books a dozen times read by their classroom teacher, they will learn to match the words to the pictures while they are reading. After hearing the stories, students will learn to use exact character words and add a pinch of themselves to their reading. They will get to add some of their creativity to "reading" their stories when they read by themselves, to their partners, and to special adults in their lives. Each of these books serves such a special role in the lives of the our kindergarten students.
