The use of a telescope will help students with direct observation of the night sky, making scientific observation real! Our community is in rural Arizona, where astronomy is an excellent way to introduce students to science and to improve their odds of acceptance to a four-year university. The requested materials include a starter telescope and the corresponding attachments that will make it functional. This particular telescope is ideal because of its low cost and functionality. We are in the process of forming a new Astronomy Club and a telescope is required for star viewing. Unfortunately, the students in this school have no useful telescope at this time.
